Highlights of 2009-10 include:

  • 12 new faculty hires in the research focus areas
  • 118 publications by EPSCoR faculty including publications in Nature, Science, and PNAS
  • Reached over 50,000 school age children with expanded Outreach offerings
  • Outreach program, GirlTech, was selected as one of ten programs in the nation to partner with Public Broadcasting’s DragonFly TV SciGirls Program
  • Establishment of successful cyberinfrastructure enhancement at the two research universities
  • Provided onsite fieldtrips to 4,000 K-12 students: 14.5% were Native American, 39% of participants were low income, and 50% were from rural settings
