The NSF EPSCoR Track-2 VOEIS award began in 2009, running 3 years. This is a collaborative project (VOEIS Portal) between Montana and Kentucky EPSCoR jurisdictions working on meteorological and water quality monitoring systems through the use of modern cyberinfrastructure resources at Flathead Lake Biological Station and Hancock Biological Station. A critically important part of this project is expanding students’ expertise in sensor development, deployment, and system simulation. A special effort is being made to include students from the Tribal Colleges in Montana and the students from the Appalachian counties of Kentucky.
